It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Artie “Chief” Lakiotes
Sadly, received news of Chief’s passing this morning. As sad as it most surely is, it is also a blessing. I’m sure this news will catch some of you by surprise, but Artie had been working through several health issues over the past couple of months that came on him fairly rapidly and advanced just as quickly. Thankfully, he’s at peace now.
Chief was many things to so many people. He was a 9/11 hero and survivor, although many wouldn’t know it, as he was as humble as he was generous. He was always willing to help anyone, anytime. And he was always up for a laugh, a prank, or a social gathering with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed and always remembered by many.

All,
As promised, please find below the details for Chief. Of important note…Artie will be waked and laid to rest with full Line of Duty honors befitting his service to the department and 9/11 legacy. As such, both the wake and mass will be accompanied with full FDNY pomp, procedure, and protocols. I expect that the wake lines will be long, and that attendance inside the church during Mass not assured. Just trying to manage your expectations should you be looking to attend either or both.
To allow for members to attend the wake should they desire, the Grand Knight has cancelled Weds. planned meeting.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me. Please pray for the repose of our Brother’s soul, and the eventual consolation of his family and many friends.

Our Annual Golf Outing Returns!
Hi all! After a Covid year off, our Annual John J “Big Bird” Moloney Golf Outing will once again be held on June 25th, 2021 at Dyker. Due to ongoing Covid restrictions however, we will be unable to hold our traditional reception at the course. The good news is we have secured the Bay Ridge Manor as the venue for the after-party! We sincerely hope you’ll be able to join us that day, as we raise scholarship funds for Cathedral Prep Seminary and once again celebrate the life of Big Bird along with his family and friends!
As usual, if you can only attend the reception, there’s an accommodation for that. If you’d like to sponsor a raffle prize or sponsor a hole, that’s greatly appreciated as well!
Please use the attached form to reserve your foursomes, dinner reservations, or hole/raffle sponsorships! On behalf of the entire Golf Committee, please accept out thanks for your consideration and support of our efforts year after year! We so look forward to seeing y’all on the 25th of June! Let’s make this one the best one yet!
God bless.
